Spend your summer at NSA further developing your I/O technical skills. As an Intern working in the HR Strategy and Program Design unit at NSA, you’ll learn how to apply scientific and quantitative methods to address a wide range of human capital issues.
The Industrial and Organizational Psychology Intern Program is a 12-week internship for graduate students enrolled in an M.A., M.S. or Ph.D. program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology or a related field. The program is designed to provide the individual the opportunity to gain valuable applied experience by working alongside psychologists in areas of personnel assessment (i.e., research and development work to support assessments used to select applicants for mission critical positions), organizational design and development, human capital systems design and consulting, occupational/job analysis, organizational assessments and workforce surveys, and program evaluation. Through this work, the HR Strategy and Program Design unit is working to better understand people, organizations, and the impact of management practices.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
– Students are paid a competitive salary commensurate with their education level.
– Receive annual leave, sick leave and paid federal holidays.
– Participation in agency-wide extracurricular programs.
– Students who attend schools in excess of 75 miles from Ft. Meade, MD, are eligible for a round trip airfare ticket to and from school or mileage reimbursement up to the cost of a government-issued airline ticket.
– Daily transportation to and from work is not provided. Students participating in the program are highly encouraged to bring a vehicle. Carpooling with other students MAY be available but NOT guaranteed.
– Subsidized housing accommodations are available upon request if school is located in excess of 75 miles from NSA main HQs campus.
Join students from across the country and lend your knowledge to national security in one of NSA’s over 25 summer internship programs. These 12 week paid programs run from mid-May to mid-August and are open to undergraduate freshman up to Ph.D. students depending on internship requirements. These internships are open to a wide variety of majors and give students the opportunity to work directly with mission-critical problems and experience the excitement of working directly in NSA spaces.
– Must be a U.S. citizen.
– Must be eligible to be granted a security clearance.
– Must be enrolled in a graduate program.
– Must be majoring in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (or a related field).
– A minimum GPA of 3.0 or above is preferred.
– Must be available for an operational interview and other applicable processing between the months of December 2019 and March 2020.
